Careers
Introduce yourself.
This is where working at The Liminal Clinic starts — whether a role is advertised or not. Tell us who you are, show us your experience, and if there's a fit now or later, we'll know where to find each other. Every expression of interest is read by a human. With your permission, we'll hold your details on file so that when a role opens, we can come to you first.
Before you start
Before you fill in the form.
Psychologists: we can currently only consider psychologists who:
- Hold full general registration with AHPRA (unfortunately not provisional registration)
- Have experience working with the communities we support — neurodivergent adults, LGBTIQASB+ people, First Nations people, culturally diverse people, people living with disability — and the presentations we see, including trauma and complex trauma, minority stress and identity-related stress, and disordered eating (particularly in cis-men and TGDNB people). Experience within Medicare, NDIS, Victims of Crime, workplace insurance (e.g. WorkSafe) and transport accident (e.g. TAC) frameworks is valued.
- Are Medicare-registered (or eligible for provider registration) and hold Australian work rights
We especially welcome psychologists with lived experience of marginalisation, diversity, or feeling "othered".
Provisional psychologists and students: we're not able to consider provisional psychologists, registrars or student placements right now. We may in the future — please register your interest rather than submitting this form, and you'll hear first if that changes.
Client Experience Officers (CEOs): no clinical registration needed. You'll need experience in a similar role, working with similar client populations. A background in psychology is highly regarded, as is experience with Medicare and NDIS. We'd love to hear from you at any time.
Your letter
About your cover letter.
Please don't send us the cover letter you send everyone else. Generic letters tend not to make it far here — write yours for The Liminal Clinic. It doesn't need to be long; it needs to be yours.
Your cover letter should tell us:
- Why you think The Liminal Clinic might be the right fit for you
- The populations and presentations you have experience working with — and those you want to grow into
- Your current location, and the days/hours you'd ideally work
- For psychologists: any experience conducting assessments (ADHD, Autism, WPATH readiness) and working with marginalised communities
And one small thing: please begin your cover letter with the phrase "I am not a robot." It tells us you've actually read this page — and in an age of AI-written everything, we like proof of a human.
Send it to us.
Resume and cover letter as PDF or Word, up to 8 MB each. Everything else is optional — but the more you tell us, the easier it is to picture you here.
Remember: the cover letter starts with "I am not a robot."
By sending this you give permission for The Liminal Clinic to keep your details and documents on file and to contact you about roles. You can withdraw that at any time by emailing hello@liminalclinic.com.au. Privacy.
After you send it
What happens next.
You'll get a confirmation straight away, and your expression of interest will be read and acknowledged — properly, usually within two weeks. With your permission we'll hold your details on file, and when a suitable role opens, people on our file hear first — often before it's advertised. We don't hold meetings or interviews unless a role is available and you've been shortlisted; when you are, the process may start with a short phone chat, then a casual coffee with the Director — in person somewhere in Melbourne if you're in close proximity, otherwise online — before a formal online interview.
Get to know us before we ever meet.
The best way to know whether we're your kind of clinic is to watch how we show up. Follow along, and subscribe for updates and job alerts — we'll tell you when roles open, before we advertise them.
Thank you for looking our way.
We read every expression of interest and reply to all of them.
