Plain numbers.

Fees are per 50-minute session, in person or online. Long appointments are typically 80 minutes at 1.5× the standard rate. GST is included where it applies. Therapy, assessments, and reports that are part of your care (including WPATH-aligned assessment letters) are GST-free. Reports that are not part of treatment, such as reports for courts, insurers or employers, attract 10% GST.

How and when you pay

The fine print, plainly.

Medicare
Rebates apply with a Mental Health Treatment Plan (up to 10 sessions a calendar year, 6 + 4) or an Eating Disorder Plan (up to 40). Your GP determines eligibility.
Safety net
Once your out-of-pocket costs pass the Extended Medicare Safety Net threshold ($861.20 for concession card holders and FTB-A families, $2,699.10 for everyone else, 2026), Medicare pays 80% of the gap on further sessions
Evenings and weekends
An additional $20 applies from 5pm and on weekends, where available
Changing an appointment
We ask for 2 full business days' notice. Change online in the client booking portal, or by phone on (03) 7042 9820. We can't take changes or cancellations by email or SMS. Phone changes are confirmed only once we reply to say so. Short-notice changes and missed appointments are charged at the full fee. A medical certificate, a bereavement or us filling the slot means no fee, and you can ask about anything else
Assessments and reports
Quoted in full before anything starts
Payment
The session fee is paid on the day. Where Medicare applies, we submit your claim as a courtesy and the rebate comes back to your bank account
Certificates
Certificates of attendance for work or study, on request. They confirm the date and time only
Cover, either way

Questions about money.

Do I need a referral?

You can contact us yourself. Anyone can. Before your first appointment, everyone gets a referral from their GP, so we're connected with the hub of your care; a Mental Health Treatment Plan, Eating Disorder Plan or Chronic Condition Management Plan is what unlocks a Medicare rebate.

What is the gap with a Registered Psychologist?

$250 fee, $101.55 rebate, $148.45 out of pocket, until the safety net kicks in.

Is there a rebate for a Provisional Psychologist?

No. Sessions are $150 with no Medicare rebate.

What about private health insurance?

Many extras policies rebate psychology. We give you receipts to claim, and some funds allow direct claiming.

Can someone else pay?

Yes. NDIS plan managers, WorkSafe Victoria, TAC, Victims of Crime and State Trustees can all be invoiced directly. See Funding.
